We are doing this category a bit differently this year, including those serving purely both veggie/vegan and plant-based offerings and others making a sterling effort to accommodate our herbivorous friends.

The awards will be held on Monday May 12 at The Ashmolean, with a fabulous after party at Dishoom’s Permit Room in Oxford

Taste Tibet, East Oxford – Tibetan food doesn’t get more authentic than this. Changing on a weekly basis, Yeshi’s home-made curries, momas and dhals, all available in delicious vegetarian/vegan portions, to eat in or take away, are hugely popular. White Hart, Fyfield – Always makes a concerted effort by growing as much of the fruit and veg on the menus as possible, chef patron Mark Chandler’s ever-changing menu includes the likes of smoked Applewood croquettes with chilli jam, the delicious sounding tomato tartare, black olive crumb, basil, toasted pine nuts with vegan cream cheese, or a Guinness glazed celeriac, braised fennel, orange and thyme compote with salty fingers and beurre blanc. Worton Kitchen Garden, Cassington – The seasonal produce grows around the restaurant, so there’s no escaping from its field to fork formula, originating in the vast gardens and greenhouses encircling it. Everything is made from scratch, from the pickles to the freshly baked bread.
