The Ox in A Box Food Awards are being held in 2022 to highlight and reward Oxfordshire’s hard working chefs, restaurants, pubs and cafés, especially after the devastating effects of the pandemic on our beloved hospitality industry.
Raymond Blanc will be our special guest at the Ox In A Box Food Awards black tie ceremony (date TBC) to help us celebrate the best of Oxfordshire’s food scene.
The awards will also be donating to The Thomas Franks Foundation
Founded in 2019 by Frank and Emma Bothwell, the Thomas Franks Foundation was created to provide support to disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young adults across the UK.
During the COVID-19 situation, thanks to generous donations from clients, suppliers and many more, the Foundation’s Feeding Communities, has been providing thousands of nutritious, healthy meals each day to those in need. To date the Foundation has provided over 1,000,000 fresh, free meals.

Chalgrove Artisan Distillery
HQ of the multi award winning OX44 Gin
Chalgrove Gin use a neutral grain spirit which is 96% ABV (alcohol by volume) to create their Oxford Dry Gin. They then add the flavour using selected botanicals.
The base botanicals (including juniper berries and coriander) are added to the spirit to macerate for 24 hours, after which the additional botanicals are then added to the pot still and then begins the distillation process.
The Oxford Wine Company
The original Oxford Wine Company was founded in 1840 and traded from 125 High Street, Oxford until 1914. The name was revived in the early 1990s by MD and owner Ted Sandbach, metamorphosing from ‘The Oxford Hamper Company’ through ‘The Oxford Wine and Hamper Company’ and finally becoming ‘The Oxford Wine Company’ in the Spring of 1992. Since then expansion has been rapid and the company now bears very little resemblance to its relatively humble origins. Driven forward by Ted, this is a company which never stands still!
