“We come together to laugh, cheer and celebrate Diana for the gay icon she is and the ground-breaking work she did to improve queer lives,” Linus Karp explains as he brings his new show ‘Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story‘ to OFS.

“I’ve always loved Diana and I very much enjoy combining art forms in unexpected way so this feels very special to me,” he adds.

Think theatre, comedy, drag, puppetry, music, dance, multimedia and audience participation all melted together and set in heaven where you can discover the completely untold and untrue tale of Diana’s extraordinary life.

“It is a wild show,” he promises. “and a unique celebration of the people’s princess highlighting her ground-breaking stances on LGBTQ+ and social issues through drag, puppetry and a lot of queer joy! Of course Linus and his theatre company Awkward Productions also takes liberties with this adaption: “We take Diana’s well-known story, and tell it in ways that are unexpected, playful, exaggerated and, at times, completely untrue, which is such a thrill.

“I love completely changing direction and messing up the established format and the audience are a huge part of that – their involvement will determine where the show heads so No two shows are the same.”

You have been warned, and so far Linus’ growing number of fans are lapping up his new show read about his previous show How To Live A Jellicle Life here which must be exciting?

“I am delighted with the reception so far – we’ve had multiple sell-out shows and 5-star reviews. But what I’m most proud of is that we’ve created a place of queer joy,” he says.

As for coming to OFS, this will be Linus’ third visit this year: “The Old Fire Station was the first to programme the show. It’s such a gorgeous space and you can also choose ticket prices based on your income. Put it this way I can’t wait to bring Diana to Oxford!” he says.
