Our friends at The Chalgrove Artisan Distillery, home of OX GINS, were awarded an incredible 4 gold medals and 3 silver medals at this year’s 2023 Bartender Spirit Awards in America this week!
The judging panel consists of some of the most renowned names in the US bar industry, all with extensive expertise within the industry.
Gold medals were awarded to OX20 (Navy strength Gin), OX1 Gin, OX2 Pink Gin and OX4 Gin at the ceremony in San Francisco, each named after Oxfordshire postcodes with different botanics which give them their unique flavour.
“This recognition is a genuine validation of my wife Jenny’s amazing talent when it comes to the art of creating luxury Gins” said founder Bob Clark, the master distiller at Chalgrove Artisan Distillery.
The OX3 Gin narrowly missed out on a gold medal and received a total of 89 points (90 is a gold award). Ben said “I am so pleased as my current favourite is OX3 Gin. It pairs perfectly with lots of ice and a light tonic water. I then use fresh apples to garnish as it complements the Apples that we use in the distillation process from Waterperry Gardens”.
Their OX11 Gin also received a silver medal. Distilled with rose and chamomile, this Gin is floral in nature. Jenny was thrilled as this recognition was the first time that OX11 had received an award.
The ultra-luxurious OX14 Gin also collected its first award with a silver medal made with saffron and Grains of Paradise.
‘Every one of our Gins have now won an award which is amazing’
“This now means that OX GINS truly have taken their handcrafted Gin to a whole new level and are driving the way in terms of the art of distilling in Oxfordshire,” Ben says.
Founder and concocter extraordinaire Jenny Clark added: “Every one of our Gins have now won an award which is amazing. I am so pleased that people love our products, and this is what drives me. I am even more determined now to get back into the distillery and start exploring some new recipes and flavours”.
Co-founders Jenny and Bob Clark READ ABOUT THEM HERE visited Chicago last October to share their Gins with the American market where they were invited to enter the Bartender Spirits Award.
But when news pop their epic win spread back to the Uk this week, Ben said: “My parents were both speechless.”
