The Crossing is an exciting new play set in a world scarred by chaos in which four determined teenagers embark on a quest to leap into a brighter reality.
Commissioned specifically for Oxford’s young talent, Pegasus Theatre is hosting the world premiere on July 14 – 15 where they will intertwine parallel universes and fight the looming threat threatening our very existence.
Written by the emerging local playwright Simon Castle, the play will be brought to life by the vibrant Pegasus Young Company 11-15 and ingeniously staged by the skilled Pegasus Technical Young Company 14-18.
As these realities collide, a corridor emerges as a lifeline between life and death, raising the question of who can be trusted to guide them through the shifting dimensions.
Writer Simon Castle says “Not often do you get the honour of working with such a fiercely talented group of young creatives. Their imagination, passion and skill is a feat in itself; I’m privileged to have been able to work alongside them.”
Simon Castle is a young, local actor, writer, director and queer theatre maker who works with Creation Theatre Company, The North Wall, Cherwell Theatre Company and National Theatre Connections, for 4-18 year olds.
While Pegasus’ Artistic Director Georgia Bradley said: “We believe in the incredible power of young talent and their fresh perspectives, and are thrilled to provide a platform for Simon Castle’s exceptional storytelling in The Crossing.”
Pegasus’ Young Companies are geared towards professional performances. The year-long courses take young people from rehearsal room to centre stage, while the Pegasus Technical Young Company offers opportunities for budding stage technicians and designers aged 14-18. FIND OUT MORE HERE
