Head to Tap Social Taproom in Botley on Saturday November 23 for a Christmas Market like no other. Brought to you by Independent Oxford it will feature a host of local independent market stalls, street food, festive drinks and children’s activities, it promises to not only deliver on the gift front but get you in the mood for the festive season.
Throw in a winter wonderland theme, lots of festive cheer, kids activities and a wonderful community atmosphere, it’s bound to get you in the mood for the Yuletide season.
Or as Tess Taylor, co-founder and director at Tap Social Movement says: “The Indie Oxford Christmas Market is one of my favourite events. The Taproom is transformed into a winter wonderland and it’s the perfect opportunity to get some Christmas shopping sorted with gifts from independent makers and local suppliers.”
There’s even a even a Christmas pudding toss for children
As for the local independent businesses taking part, there are 17 stalls touting their wares from homeware, skincare, ceramics, jewellery, books, prints and posters, clothes and accessories, craft supplies, gift sets, food and puzzles.
In terms of food and drink, should you get hungry, or God forbid thirsty, there will be more than enough nourishment to go around with mulled drinks, PROOF pastries, pizza and the usual stocked bar at the Taproom on hand.
Children will be delighted with the kids craft corner hosted by local children’s activity and holiday camp provider House of Fun and social impact gym The Project PT, who are running family friendly activities and sports including boxing, weightlifting, battle ropes and even a Christmas pudding toss. Plus Caper Book Shop are running a letter to Santa activity.
This is the third year running that Independent Oxford have hosted a Christmas Market and founder Rosie Jacobs, said: “The Christmas market has attracted hundreds of shoppers who are all keen to shop local, support amazing independent businesses and have a great time. It’s a Christmas market with a difference and as much a celebration of local businesses as a chance to shop.”
Traders at the market this year include LORDS Fragrance House, Leafology, Rainbow and Spoon, Sitaarah, Jampuppy Design, Custom Made, Jessie’s Art Shed, Etta Rain Ceramics, Caper, Crafty Maze, The Oxford Soap Company, Annabel’s Patisserie, Miller & Jeeves, Sally-Anne Stewart Linocut Prints, Amy Surman Jewellery and The Oxford Weaving Studio.
