Where to go on NYE is always a tricky one so here are our recommendations for a top night out!

The Gardener Arms, Jericho – is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style with food running from 12noon until 8pm followed by toasting in the New Year. Come and celebrate with them in style and enjoy their famous vegetarian and vegan food.

3) The White Hart, Fyfield – The best place to go on New Year’s Day for a tasty lunch. Open for drinks from 12-5pm and serving lunch from 12-3pm. Enjoy a set menu with a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 puddings for £38/43 for 2/3 courses. They do get very busy, so do book.

4) The Mole Inn, Toot Baldon – What’s not to love about a seven course tasting menu, a glass of champagne on arrival, live music and party bags? From amuse bouche through to beetroot carpaccio, cured salmon, beef, choux buns, cheese and petit four. £85 per person.

5) Tap Social Taproom, Botley’s New Year’s Eve Y2K FLASHBACK: An 80s-90s pre-apocalypse party, 8pm until 3am. The ultimate countdown to the New Year with some major classics from DJs VILE KYLE and BOB E DEMONS. Fancy dress is encouraged but not essential. Pizza, sweets and hot & cold beery beverages at the bar!

6) The Plough, West Hanney have prepared a fabulous four course NYE menu with a glass of fizz, and then bacon sandwiches at 1am for £80 per person. Start with a selection of breads with Marmite butter, a seasonal starter, then BBQ squid with lemon and pea puree, pickled celery, an onglet steak with celeriac puree, duck fat hash browns, pickled mushrooms and red wine jus, and pud is a vanilla pan cotta with spiced apple compote. There is as matching vegetarian/vegan menu too.

7) Waggon and Horses, Southmoor – celebrate in style at this country pub with DJ SOLR&SHEM and a Peaky Blinders theme. What more can you ask for? Book at

8) Three Horseshoes, Witney is not only hosting a stupendous NYE party with special guest Mr Funk Soul Siu from 6pm-late, some mighty fine cocktails and half price Prosecco, but a New Year’s Day hangover brunch menu which includes Bloody Mary soup and cheese toasties, porridge and eggy bread. We’re so there!

9) The Swan, Islip, New Year’s Eve in the Cygnet dining room. Head chef Paul Welburn has designed a special New Year’s Eve Menu with three sittings at 5.30pm, 7pm and 8.30pm. £90 per person, the menu includes a glass of Laurent-Perrier “La Cuvée” on arrival, a selection of gourmet snacks and then a choice of mains and puds.

10) Sandy’s, King Edward Street, Oxford – If anyone’s going to see NYE in style it’s Oxford’s favourite piano bar where singing, dancing and drinking will be on hand in their specially themed NYE Extravaganza. Late late.

11) The Coconut Tree, St Clements is hosting a bottomless NYE party at the Sri Lankan restaurant from noon until midnight with two dishes and unlimited drinks for two hours at £35 a head or three hours at £45.

12) The Crown, Faringdon‘s NYE party may be fully booked but you can still welcome in the New Year at its exclusive New Year’s Day Brunch Experience from 10am to 2pm that sets the tone for a year of indulgence with hot breakfast options, a smoked salmon bar, fresh juices and coffee.

13) Wilding, Little Clarendon Street, chefs Michael and Ben’s New Year’s Eve Menu includes dishes such as hash brown, creamed cavalo & black truffle, lobster raviolo & “red thai curry”, as well as a very special roasted turbot with champagne sauce. Then dance into the New Year in Oxford with the iconic DJ Derrick McKenzie from Jamiroquai, who will play until 1am.

14) The Randolph, Oxford. No New Year’s Eve plans yet? Enjoy drinks, live music and dancing late into the night at The Alice. Tickets include entry to The Randolph New Year’s Eve party, a glass of Champagne on arrival plus another drink of your choosing, music from a live band and DJ and dancing until the small hours. 15) The Greyhound, Letcombe Regis. Head Chef Martin Sherriff and his team have created a very special menu for this year’s Celebration Dinner. After enjoying a welcome glass of English sparkling wine, enjoy six delicious courses, and afterwards, another glass of fizz to toast the New Year! £95 per person. Must be pre-booked.
