Looking for something a little different this weekend? Head to Leiden Square at Westgate Oxford (outside John Lewis), where Dancin’ Oxford’s Summer Dance Festival is bringing two afternoons of free performances celebrating dance from around the world.
On Saturday, prepare to be inspired by an exciting programme of professional performances. Experience the electrifying contemporary dance of Tavaziva Dance, whose work blends African and contemporary.

Keep an eye out too for the wonderfully eccentric Granny Turismo – a mischievous gang of larger-than-life grannies on scooting around on segways bringing plenty of humour and unexpected encounters.

On Sunday, don’t miss Autin Dance Theatre, whose breathtaking giant wheel performance combines dance, theatre and stunning visual storytelling to create an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. Throughout the afternoon, the stage will also be filled by dance schools and community groups from across Oxford, celebrating the city’s rich mix of cultures, traditions and dance styles.

Whether you’re planning a family day out, meeting friends or simply passing through Westgate, it’s the perfect opportunity to pause, discover something new and enjoy world-class dance in the heart of Oxford.
And the best part? It’s completely free.
