New Oxford bar Flight Club, which is opening in The Westgate next month, is calling for local artists to enter a competition to have their artwork displayed in the window at its launch next month.
The winner will also bag themselves a £500 bar tab to spend there and a ticket to the bar’s VIP launch party.
Oxford artists are being encouraged to submit an entry to its ‘Window of Opportunity’ competition by Friday November 1, conveying their interpretation of the word ‘JOY’, to match the bar’s fun ethos.

The lucky winner will have a piece of their artwork exclusively displayed in Oxford’s Flight Club window for all to see at its grand opening.
Opening on November 22 on The Westgate roof terrace, Flight Club is set to be an epic addition to Oxford’s bar scene. Customers can expect a fusion of delicious food and drink, eye-catching interiors, banging DJ sets and of course, Social Darts – immersive, fast-paced multi-player games that anyone can play. ‘Brace yourselves! Art is pivotal to Flight Club’s design, its 22 venues all featuring antique trinkets and treasures, unique art and installations with nods to their location and heritage.
Steve Moore, CEO and co-founder of Flight Club, said, “We want to extend our celebration of art beyond the inside of our venue and take the joy outside too. What better way to do this than by showcasing the talents of Oxford’s local artists?
