New restaurant Dirty Bros is due to open its doors in February on the site of the much loved Edge at Lil’s in Witney.
The Dirty Bros site is currently being updated, rebranded and painted for its opening on February 7, with extended opening hours and an altered menu.
‘everything will be made freshly from our own recipes, from the burgers to the sauces’
The new Dirty Bros team, headed up by Jack Anderson and James Morris, already run The Mole in Toot Baldon, and are delighted to take on the Corn Street eatery in much the same guise – with cocktails, smashed burgers, fried chicken, hotdogs, sandwiches, brownies and milkshakes central to their new menu.

The Edge team has since taken on new cafe and Bakery The Edge Deli in the Hexagon Business Centre in Witney’s Station Lane, READ ABOUT IT HERE – EXCLUSIVE: The lowdown on The Edge Deli – a new cafe, bakery and shop opening in Witney, plus crowd-funding vouchers to get the community involved!, which now aims to open in March.
So yes, it’s all going on, but Jack is delighted with their new acquisition. “We’ve been looking to open a new site for a while now,” he says, “so when we sat down for a chat with our great friends Tom Pickett and Phoebe Hall who run The Edge, we offered to take it off their hands.”

Having worked at The Hollybush back in the day, Jack knows Witney well and can’t wait to open Dirty Bros’ new doors. “We really can’t wait to get going, so yes it’s really exciting,” he says.
‘we hope to build up the Dirty Bros brand and open four or five more Dirty Bros branches in the future’
As for what we can expect, Jack says: “We will continue in the same vein at Dirty Bros where everything is made freshly from our own recipes, from the burgers to the sauces, and we will be open Tuesday nights, Wed-Friday for lunch and dinner and Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

As for the challenge, Jack says: “We don’t feel like it’s a big risk because The Edge at Lil’s is already successful. Phoebe and Tom did a great job there, so we see this as the start of something new for us, and hope to build up the Dirty Bros brand and open four or five more Dirty Bros branches in the future.”

The Edge’s Tom Pickett is also very happy with the news: “We’re delighted our childhood friends are taking on The Edge At Lils. We couldn’t ask for a better group of people to take over to be honest. And we’re excited that we will now be able to go and enjoy the venue without stressing about it

“Our reason for closing was purely a personal decision by myself and Phoebe. With the opening of The Edge Deli on the horizon, we decided to focus our energy on our core business.
“At The Edge, we’ve built a really strong foothold in the ‘Brunch’ scene and it’s a true reflection of Phoebe and myself. And while we have some extremely exciting plans for the next couple of years, unfortunately The Edge At Lils just didn’t quite fit into all of this.
“Having said that we have really enjoyed our time there and are extremely sad to say goodbye.”
