Stone Barn

After a storming summer, The Scenic Supper is relocating to the cosy Cotswolds Stone Barn for the winter, to capitalise on its success.

Its hugely popular fine dining experience glasshouses at Todenham Manor Farm, near Moreton-in-Marsh will run until September 25 and then relocate to 18th century Fir Farm in Lower Swell, just outside Stow-on-the-Wold for November and December.

The Stone Barn’s heated dining space boasts a soaring vaulted ceiling and far-reaching views across the Cotswolds.

The al fresco gin bar will also be moving inside to Stone Barn where gin maker and Scenic Supper founder, Sam Lawson-King, will create seasonal, gin-based cocktails using his own King Stone gin.

And then there’s the food….Head chef, Samuel Idoine will continue The Scenic Supper’s ‘Paddock to Plate’ ethos – using the Cotswolds’ finest local produce including Fir Farm’s beef, lamb, poultry and game, as well as Mark’s Cotswold Bakery, Drinkwaters Fruit and Veg, King Stone Dairy, Cotswold Brew Company and Spinners Cider.

The six course dinner will include the likes of homemade bread and butter, celeriac soup with walnut and apple, beef brisket with Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow, a Scenic Supper tomato sorbet, Champagne poached pear, Blue Monday mousse and compressed apple, followed by Fir Farm pheasant, crispy chicken skin, parsnip puree, roasted sprouts and if you can fit it in – a Cotswold chocolate orange mousse with honeycomb!

The brainchild of three local school friends, Toby Baggott, Sam Lawson-King and Scott Sullivan, all three had their own hospitality businesses pre-lockdown. Immediately affected by the pandemic, the trio decided to launch a socially distanced dining experience using small, re-conditioned glasshouses.

Sam and Toby

Toby says: “We have loved spring, summer and what will soon be autumn at Todenham Manor Farm. Serving outside in the glasshouses and in all weathers has been a challenge, and we have loved it, but we can’t help but look forward to our winter barn event.

“We decided to hold a winter pop-up because we wanted to take our intimate dining experience indoors to a new venue for one of the most special times of the year.

Scenic Supper plans for the winter

Sam adds: “We’re really excited about welcoming visitors to this beautiful 18th century barn and want to ensure that The Scenic Supper experience continues to be truly memorable.

“Fir Farm is a fully sustainable, 800-acre, mixed livestock farm raising native and rare breed animals whilst employing the highest welfare and biodiversity practices.
