Killingworth Castle, The Bull in Charlbury, The Double Red Duke, The White Hart in Fyfield and The Greyhound in Letcombe Regis have all made it into The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Pubs 2025, which was released today.
The Good Food Guide has been on a mission to uncover the very best dining pubs across the country, looking for ‘places where brilliant cooking is paired with the spirit of a proper pub,’ and five Oxfordshire hostelries have made it onto the esteemed UK list.

Top was Killingworth Castle in Wootton at No 17, at No 26 was The Bull in Charlbury, No 41 was The Double Red Duke in Clanfield, No 53 The White Hart in Fyfield and at No 84 The Greyhound in Letcombe Regis.

Punters, gourmets and clientele were all encouraged to nominate their favourite pubs, and the results were announced today.
Claire Alexander from Killingworth Castle says: ” We’d have been over the moon just to be named best pub in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds – but 17th best in the WHOLE OF THE BLOOMIN’ UK AS WELL?! That’s just incredible. We’re all buzzing and so thankful to our brilliant team and all the customers that support us. Hospitality has had it pretty tough so this recent spate of awards really feels like we’re soaring again thanks to our lovely punters that really do make it all worthwhile.”
