November is packed full of some really exciting pop-up dinners here in Oxfordshire celebrating autumnal, seasonal fare, whether it’s plant-based. Here’s our pick of the best!
Witney’s Three Horseshoes’ November Comfort Food Series kicks off tonight (November 1) with a series of designated evenings by head chef Matt Loughton featuring all your favourite comfort food READ OUR RECENT REVIEW HERE – starting with pie night and moving onto burgers, sausage rolls and scotch eggs, a. sausage fest and fakeaway night. The White Hart, Fyfield – Wednesday Dinner Club – (Nov 1,8,15,22 and 29) is hugely popular and often sells out, mainly due to its great pricing £49 for two with a bottle of wine) and its weekly changing set menu. Tonight that consists of roasted butternut squash wedges with a blue cheese crumble, Bucksum leaves, candied hazelnuts and a hazelnut vinaigrette. Our favourite new collaboration see head gastronome supremo Georgia Gallacher producing four seasonal plant based dishes from her extensive repertoire which will be accompanied by four wines from the wine connoisseurs Grape Minds who run the bar. The Milkshed, Weston On The Green – Pop up supper Friday November 24. Five courses for £60 a head. Think beetroot carpaccio with Rosary goats cheese, slow braised ox cheek or portobello mushroom with boulanger potatoes, cavelo nero, chilli, garlic and anchovy dressing and honey baked celeriac, then a rosemary pavlova with caramelised white chocolate, cranberry compote and Chantilly.
